“Why
me?”
The
rhetorical question asked by spouses
“facing
divorce.”
Many states have implemented, “No Fault
Divorce.”
There
is no easy way to console those husbands and wives
who are confronted with the prospect of divorce,
often unexpected or unwanted. "Why me?"
is the rhetorical question asked by these pained
spouses.
It
is part of the human psyche that we tend to avoid
confronting matters that cause us pain or
discomfort. The denial of the fact of a
relationship in trouble causes us not to react
until the question, "why me" is upon us.
Often
by that time it is too late or very difficult to
restore the marriage. Couples need to be alert to
serious problems and deal with them immediately.
The passage of time without addressing problems
makes resolution more difficult.
